Hockey Jerseys Are Comfy! :)
January 27, 2011
Well, another night alone with Okie. At least this time I had alot of work to do to keep myself occupied. I've tried the whole going to be early thing, but it just doesn't work out. Man my computer is hot!!! Lets not hope this is the end buddy... I paid for you myself four years ago.... The scary part is, that Kyle had the same model as this and it died last year. When the computer guys opened it up his entire harddrive was MELTED. you should have seen the pictures. I have a feeling this computer is about to share a similar fate. I was told that this model was typically good for about 3 years so its only a matter of time now I suppose.
Anywho, had fun in Printmaking today. :) My proffessor really liked my idea for a theme and so I'm going with it! I just love it when I can cook something up and not have to change my mind because somebody doesn't like it. Anyway, the theme is going to be taking a closer look at where our food comes from. I know most people take advantage of the fact that they don't have to go out and hunt for their food and most simply don't care how an animal was killed. Now, I'm not a PETA freak, so I'm not talking about animal rights. I just think it is sad that we can just eat something that is wrapped in celophane and not even have a passing thought about where it came from. SO... I'm deconstructing farm animals. I thought it would be funny/ironic to immitate those cheezy kitchen decorations with the idealized farm scene with a pretty rooster in the center, so I am following that theme only, the rooster/other animals are portrayed as meat cuts. You could take this as a statement, or not. I don't really care. That's the beauty of it. It can mean many things. Also, I just love exploring the anatomy of different things. Call it a quirk.
This is the 'ghost print' (It's a monotype, so this is just an afterprint to remove some more ink off of the plexiglass) of my chicken that I did in class today. There will be a cow, a lamb and a pig to follow..... maybe a duck in there somewhere...
